Each invention has some positive sides and some bad effects. Cars which sometimes look beautiful and comfortable also have some bad effects on people: accident. And according to a police report published recently, the number of these road accidents has increased a lot this year. This increase, of course, is due to many reasons; and it can be solved in many ways.
Causes in cities:
If you are a trip around the world cities, you will notice that the roads are in terrible conditions. No matter how wide is a street, the people would make it narrow. Pedestrians do not use the side roads. They walk side by side with cars and buses because the shops and restaurants do not leave enough space for them to walk in. the roadsides are occupied by chairs and goods. A driver would find difficult to avoid a pedestrian, and accidents happen. A big number of drivers do not respect the traffic lights. Nor do they respect the other’s right for priority. Some drivers do not even warn the other drivers that they are going to turn right or left: they do not use the signals. Many accidents happen just while respecting the driving code.
Causes in the countryside:
What happens outside towns and cities is worse. Drivers often exceed the speed limit. Sometimes they overcome others in forbidden places. Atrocious accidents happen in these cases.
Almost all the most terrible accidents we hear about or listen to on TV happen while overcoming and while exceeding the speed limit. Others happen when the drivers are drunk. The mechanical state of some old cars also may cause accidents, but in rare cases.
Causes general:
- There are a lot of cars
- Narrow roads
- Pedestrians walk in the streets: they do not use the roadsides
- Restaurants owners do not respect the walkers/pedestrians’ way
- Shop owners also put their goods outside
- This pushes people to walk in the street and have accidents.
- Careless drivers: they drive faster, they do not respect the road code.
- They exceed the speed limit in or outside cities
- They are a sleep or drunk
- The police do not apply the severe regulations against those who break the law.
Some solutions: Accidents in general have become one of nowadays problems. There are some suggestions to solve this problem like taking rigid measures against the careless drivers and leaving enough space for the pedestrians and bicycle riders. There should be some lessons at schools to make children aware of the dangers of accidents
- The streets must be wide enough for at least four cars
- There should be one direction in each road like in high ways
- Speed exceeders and drunk-drivers should be penalized
- The roadsides shouldn’t be occupied by anyone. They should be large enough for the crowds of people
- Vehicles should be forbidden in city centers and crowded places
- If we know that children and old people are the victims, we should sensibilize them
- Old cars above20 years should be forbidden from circulation
- Vehicles mechanic checkup should regid.
- Careless drivers would lose their driving license if they have a certain number of mistakes.
Conclusion:
However, in the case of world, it seems too far to find good solutions to these problems, because a large number of the drivers do not respect the law and they violate it on purpose. And these violations make it worse for any solutions to be implemented. Still, I wish people will be alert enough and avoid some of these accidents.
