Studies or Part-Time Jobs?
Many British tennagers-13-19 years old- take part-time jobs in their free time. Some deliver newspapers in the morning before classes start, others work in work in shops after school or on weekends. They do this in order to earn some extra money to pay for their personal needs without asking their parents for pocket money. They can for example buy their motor cycles, Hi-Fi systems, or even their own cars.
But not all parents agree that their children work. Most of them believe that jobs are not beneficial for students. “If you want your child to do well at school. He has to enjoy his free time. “A mother said. “If students work in their free time. They will get tired, and fall asleep in class. And worse, they neglect their homework.” Said a teacher.
Anyways all teenagers seem to agree that their parents have to give them enough pocket money if they don’t want them to take part-time jobs.
